Dear Fellow Motorhomers,
With school holidays just around the corner the summer is a time when many of us do not use our motorhomes as much. At GB Motorhome Tours it’s a time when we don’t usually run tours, preferring to leave European campsites free to families taking their annual holidays. This year is slightly different with our Discover Iceland tour currently taking place. Being this far north, summer is the only time for a tour of this fascinating island, and at this time of year Iceland enjoys 24 hours of daylight. Below is a photo of the group pitched in Akureyri Campsite – Akureyri is Iceland’s second largest city with a population of 18,000. The photo was taken at midnight with the sun shinning on the hills in the background.

If you are out and about in the UK over the summer there are two good motorhome shows taking place, at both we have a stand so do come along and see us. Norfolk Motorhome show at the Norwich show ground takes place over the weekend of 21st – 23rd July (we are at stand 37) and then the colourful Western Motorhome show is at the Malvern show ground over the weekend of 18th – 20th August (here we are at stand 151).
Looking ahead to next year, our Austrian Alps tour has now been added to our website and is available to book, along with all of our tours through our website. The Austrian Alps tour will be a dream for all who love driving their motorhome in stunning locations.
Rather than wait until next year to join with us on a tour take a look at three of our September tours featured below. Whilst travelling on the continent remember many European countries are now implanting the German autobahn system of creating an emergency lane as traffic becomes stationary on multilane motorways/dual carriageways. You will notice as traffic begins to slow the inside lane pulls to the right and all other lanes pull to the left creating a clear run between the inside two lanes for emergency vehicles to pass through. Keep this in mind throughout your continental travels and follow as the locals do so emergency vehicles can proceed easily.
