Dear Fellow Motorhomer,
During September six GB Motorhome Tours were completed; spanning from Scotland in the North to Croatia in the South; from the French Atlantic Coast in the West to Bulgaria in the East; along with Germany and Italy in-between. A customer review from each of the September tours follows, further reviews can be read on our website at www.gbmotorhometours.com/reviews

One tour remains ongoing across Europe, with the Journey Along the Danube tour now entering Germany as participants head towards the source of the river. The Danube is Europe’s second longest river covering 2,850km in length. This tour picked up the river in Serbia and has had stays with visits to Belgrade, Budapest, Vienna, Melk and Regensburg so far. At the end of the tour, participants will have followed the river along 2,000km of its length, to its very beginning in Donaueschingen southern Germany, where the river is no more than a trickle.
Journey Along the Danube tour October 2024The above campsite sits on the banks of the Danube (like almost all on this tour) and is within easy walking distance of Melk town and Abbey, both also very popular stops for all the Danube river cruise boats.
Whilst the year is moving on, touring at GB Motorhome Tours does not stop and there is still a chance to get away again this year. Our Paris at Christmastime tour still has some space. This is a great opportunity to enjoy winter travel to one of Europe’s best cities at Christmastime. See the many Christmas markets and colourful illuminations of Paris, whilst also enjoying a day a Versailles and a celebratory Champagne evening at the wonderful Moulin Rouge. Remaining places for the tour can be reserved on the GB Motorhome Tours website.
Also keep an eye on the GB Motorhome Tours website where it is expected two further tours for later next year will be added over the next month.
For regular UK travellers to Europe, following Brexit, the 90 out of 180 day rule has become something that needs to be taken into consideration. For a good number of years now, the EU has been trying to improve control of this with the introduction of a new electronic system, to check people in and out of the Schengen zone. This entry-exit system (EES) was due to be launched on 10th November 2024 following many previous delays, but has in the last few days been postponed again, with no new launch date yet announced. Current checks for non-EU citizens entering the Schengen zone are done though stamping each person’s passport upon entry/exit, it would appear this system will now continue into at least next year. Details of the recent EU announcement confirming the delay can be read at www.etias.com/articles/eu-entry/exit-system-launch-delayed-again. If you are looking at one of our tours and need to check your own days, feel free to contact us and we will make the calculation for you.
Despite winter approaching, do keep enjoying your motorhoming. Feel free to contact us at any stage with anything you wish to ask; GB Motorhome Tours operates 12 months of the year, with tours taking place all year round and we can be contacted anytime throughout the year.
